Centre Uniform

The official competition uniform is:

  • Club Polo Shirt 
    Yellow with Bottle Green and White flashes, Bottle Green Sleeves and Collar
  • Club Racing Singlet
    Yellow with Bottle Green and White flashes and Green trim 
  • Club Racing Crop Top 
    Yellow with Bottle Green and White flashes and Green trim 
  • Bottle Green OR Black Shorts
  • Bike Pants 
    Green with Yellow and White Flashes and Green trim (or plain black)
  • Green Peak Cap/ Bucket Hat

It is a requirement to wear correct and complete Centre uniform at all LAQ competitions.

It is also centre policy that jewellery NOT be worn during competition. Jewellery poses a safety risk – necklaces, watches, bracelets, bangles, rings etc can be caught on equipment and cause injury to the athlete.

FOOTWEAR

At Centre and all LAQ Competitions, shoes are compulsory for all events regardless of the track surface.

Spike Shoes

Spike shoes may NOT be worn by :

  • athlete’s in the Under 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 age groups,
  • competitors in any event with a pack start (except for Under 13 and older)
  • competitors in track relays (except for Under 13 and older)
  • Under 11 athletes competing in Javelin or High Jump

Spike shoes can be worn by :

  • Competitors in the U11 age group may wear spike shoes in events run entirely in lanes, long jump and triple jump
  • Competitors in the U12-U17 age groups may wear spike shoes in events run entirely in lanes, long jump, triple jump, high jump and javelin
  • Competitors in the U13-U15 age groups may wear spike shoes in events run entirely in lanes, long jump, triple jump, high jump and javelin as well as in events not run entirely within lanes, except walks.

Spike shoes may be worn only IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE EVENT and DURING THE EVENT. They MUST be removed IMMEDIATELY the event is finished. It is NOT PERMITTED to wear spike shoes at any other time.

Spike shoes should be carried in a suitable bag at all times and stored safely when not in use.

Parents are especially asked to ensure that your children are aware of the serious injury that may be caused to other people from wearing spiked shoes. Your assistance in preventing such injuries is appreciated.

The maximum spike length permitted is 7mm for synthetic tracks, 9mm for synthetic field, and 12mm for any grass event. The official LAQ policy on footwear and spikes can be found here.
