Christmas Break Up and more….
Just a few notices before the end of the year.
Christmas Break Up is this Saturday from 9am to 11am. Please bring a plate of morning tea for everyone to share. Drinks will be available from the canteen but there won’t be a sausage sizzle this week. Good idea for the kids to bring a change of clothes as there’s a pretty good chance of getting wet…..
The first week back after New Year is Jan 11th. And then we will be into full speed preparations for hosting the Regional carnival in early Feb. Thanks to those who have volunteered to help so far, but we will need lots more bodies on that weekend in the canteen.
Nominations for the Regional Carnival (Feb 8 & 9) will close on Saturday January 25th. Kids from U7 and older can compete in up to 5 events on the weekend (cost is $2 per event). For U9 and older if you finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in your event you will qualify for the State Championships being held in Cairns in late March.
Congratulations are due to Corey and Blade who won a bronze medal in the Boys U13 Discus at last weekend’s State Relay Championships. Well done boys! They also competed in the High Jump and Shot Put. And congrats also to Kenley who threw a big PB in the discus, plus got Sally’s autograph and a photo with her!
The Centre Best Performances have been updated. We have had 15 new CBP’s set this season so far, although to be fair our two U16 athletes have got it a bit easy as they are basically setting new marks. The full list is on our website (click here).
