Thank you to everyone who attended the Parent Info Workshop last Saturday. That was the first time we have run a workshop like that and we hope those who attended found it useful and informative. We would be really keen to get some feedback from those who attended so we can improve the presentation next season. 

Here is the link to the LAQ Handy Hints which we discussed during the workshop. These are a great introduction to all Little Athletics events – what the rules are, how to measure/time/record etc, and some simple tips for coaching the kids.

Thanks again to Nambour Radiator Works for helping with the FREE Jumping Castle for the kids while the parents were learning.

Regional Relays Nov 11th at USC

This years Suncoast Regional Relay carnival is being held at the USC Track on 11th November. The Relays are a fun and exciting event with teams competing in both track and field events against other Centres from across the Suncoast Region. The Relays are open to all athletes from Under 7 to Under 17. Nominations for the Relay teams are NOW OPEN. Here is the Nomination Form which shows you what events are available. Each Age Group competes in two Track Relays and three Field events. Track teams are made up of four athletes and field teams are made up of two athletes. Please ask one of the committee if you require more info on how the Relays work.

The Nomination Fee is $3.50 per athlete per event – these fees are set by LAQ. Please bring your nomination form and entry fee to the canteen. Nominations close on October 28.

Training

Training is on Thursdays from 4pm to about 5:30pm. We ask for a gold coin donation for training to raise funds for additional accreditation for our coaches, and to purchase additional equipment for training. Training is not compulsory, but everyone is welcome.

Structures Tri Centre Carnival – Oct 21st from 8AM

Maroochy and Bli Bli will be visiting us on Sat Oct 21st for our first Tri Centre carnival of the season. We will be running a slightly modified event program to account for the extra numbers, and we will probably also include a relay race for all age groups. This is a fun morning with a great atmosphere – no medals, no winners, just good fun with our friends from Bli Bli and Maroochy. We encourage everyone to attend. And massive thanks to our Gold Sponsor Structures Engineering and Design for supporting this event.

Did you know that you can view your child’s results on-line? Each week we enter the results into the ResultsHQ database which you can access. The instructions are on our website on the Results On Line page.
