Published by NamBouRLA on

A big thank you to all families who have nominated for this event – we will have 36 athletes attending. Please find important information regarding this Competition below:

LOCATION

Regional Relays are being held at Noosa Little Athletics – Girraween Sports Complex, Eenie Creek Road, Sunshine Beach. I have attached a Ground Map. Our tents will be set up down near the 100m start (tent on map marked NA).

Please note that there is very limited parking.

Additional parking is available at the Noosa Aquatic Centre. We are waiting on additional information from the Regional Committee regarding parking, this will be posted to Facebook as soon as it is received.

EVENTS

We have tried our best to accommodate all of the children but in some ages there is a need to compete up an age group. Please find attached the event list by athlete name as well as Relay Teams.

There was a late LAQ change to events being offered for Under 8s. They will now be doing Shot Put instead of Discus.

If you have any issues with the event list or if for some reason your athlete can no longer compete at this event, please contact me ASAP.

PROGRAM

Please find attached the Program of Events for Saturday. Please ensure you arrive at the grounds at least 45 minutes prior to your event as event times can be brought forward up to 30 minutes. Deb and myself will be Team Managers for the day, it is vital that you check in your athletes with us.

We are seeking a Boy/Girl Under 11 or Girl U12 athlete that would like an additional race in an Under 13 Boys 4 x 100m relay at 1:50pm. Please email me if you are interested for more details.

TRIALS FOR FIELD EVENTS

We will be advised that morning if athletes will be permitted to have two or three attempts at Long Jump, Shot Put and Discus. The decision will be based on the number of competitors.

In High Jump, there will be two (2) trials per competitor per height (as per LAQ rules).

All athletes competing in field events must complete their trial within 30 seconds. A warning will be given after 20 seconds has lapsed by raising a yellow flag. In High Jump, time limits for two remaining athletes is 1.5 minutes and 3 minutes when one athlete remains.

RELAY LEGS
On the day, Simone and Lindsie will be working with the relay teams or organise which athlete is running which leg.

EVENT CLASHES

There will be clash marshalls who will manage any program clashes. When athletes are at a field event and a track event is called, they must stay at the field event until collected by a clash marshall. IMPORTANT: Parents are not to take their children from a field event to attend a track event
