Regional Relays This Saturday

Only a few days left before Regional Relays. Looking forward to a big day on Saturday. Just a few things to keep in mind :

The carnival is being held at Maroochydore High School. This map shows the location of the oval. First events start at 8:30 AM. Anyone in 8:30 events need to be there and ready to marshall at 8:00 AM (Event Program Here).

Parking

The map includes info on parking supplied by Maroochy LAC. Be aware that parking within Maroochydore High School is limited, so street parking may be required. Look out for yellow lines, and do not park across driveways or on nature strips. The police were called last year to move illegally parked cars.

Uniform

Athletes must be in their correct uniform. Centre shirt with rego number on front and age patch on left sleeve. Shorts must be bottle green. If you wear skins under your shorts they must be black or bottle green. No logo’s can be showing on skins – turns them inside out or tape over the logos. Boys MUST wear shorts over skins. Officials will be reporting uniform breaches – please check your uniforms before you turn up.

Event Program and Clashes

Events can run up to 30 minutes early, or also they can run late. Do not panic. Listen to the PA – and wait for the marshalling calls before you send your kids off to events. Maree is our Team Manager on the day – please work with her. There will be clashes of events – the officials will be aware of them. Never move your child from one event to another – they must stay at the event they are competing in. The officials will be aware of the clashes and will handle it.

If you cannot attend the carnival for any reason please advise Maree (0411 759 262) ASAP. But please be aware if we do not have 4 runners we cannot put a relay team on the track. If you are running late also let Maree know.

Food/Drinks etc

The Maroochy Little A’s canteen will be open, but they are going to be very busy all day. We advise that you bring some food and drinks along as well. Bring chairs, a rug, and something to keep the kids entertained between events. We will have marquees set up as our team base camp!

Start Marshalling

Nambour is responsible for supplying FOUR start marshalls all day, and one assistant Track Marshall all day. At this stage these jobs will be split up between Hayley, Rob, Shaun, Dan, Grahame, and Sean. But we will all be looking for a break at some stages of the day so if you can help out (even if its only for an hour) please come and see us at the track marshalling tent.

Officials Meeting 7:15am

For our officials – Julie, Kev, Rob, Dan, Maree, Hayley, Shaun, Grahame, Sean, Adam – the officials meeting will be held at 7:15am.
