I hope to see all of you back in September for another great season of athletics. 2019/2020 is going to be awesome!

Coaching and Carnivals!

Hi everyone,

For those who attended Regional Relays last weekend I hope you all had a good day. LAQ should be publishing full results in the next day or two.

In the meantime there are three items of news to be aware of :

November 22nd – Coaching Clinic and Junior Mini-Meet with Bli Bli

LAQ are holding another coaching clinic at Nambour on November 22nd. This is because they could not provide High Jump and Hurdles coaches for the clinic held a few weeks ago. The clinic on Nov 22nd will offer High Jump, Hurdles, and specialist Sprint coaching for all athletes from U9 to U17. The timetable for the day will be as follows :

8AM – Tiny Tots to Under 8 – Junior Mini-Meet with athletes from Bli Bli LAC. We will run our normal 6 event program for the younger kids.

9AM to 12Noon – Coaching Clinic for U9 to U11 athletes

12:30PM to 3:30PM – Coaching Clinic for U12 to U17 athletes.

November 23rd (Sunday) Glasshouse Pentathlon

The Glasshouse Pentathlon is a great carnival for the kids to attend. All athletes U7 to U17 compete in 5 set events and points are totalled at the end of the day with medals awarded to the top 3 in each age group. Under 6’s can also compete – they do 4 events and all will get participation medals.

The GH Pentathlon is not a long day. First events are at 9:30 and it is usually all done by mid-afternoon.

An information sheet and nomination form is HERE. Nominations can be handed in at Nambour this Saturday along with the $10 fee. There are no late nominations – so you have to nominate this Saturday (15th) if you want to go.

December 6th – Caloundra Open Day

The Caloundra Open Data is another great carnival which we encourage athletes to attend. There is more info on our website (go to the Calendar, scroll down to Dec 6 and click Info). U6 to U17 can nominate for this carnival. You can choose up to 6 events to compete in. Nominations close on Nov 29th.

This Weeks News…

Just a couple of reminders :

Tiny Tots to Under 8’s

Due to the coaching clinic this weekend, there will be NO competition at Nambour this Saturday Oct 25th for the Tiny Tots through to the Under 8’s. If you wish to compete this weekend then you are welcome to attend the Bli Bli Little A’s meet on Saturday afternoon, from 2:30pm. Their track is at McMartin Park, Lefoes Rd, Bli Bli.

Coaching Clinic This Weekend

For those who have registered for the free coaching clinic this weekend, remember that U9 to U11 athletes are from 9am to 12noon on Sat and Sun, and U12 to U17 are from 12:30pm to 3:30pm on Sat and Sun. The canteen will be open both days. There are almost 60 athletes registered for the clinic so it should be a great couple of days.

If you have not registered for the clinic but would like to come, then you need to send an email to centremanager@nambourlittleathletics.com.au ASAP so that we can let LAQ know.

Regional Relays – Nov 8th at Maroochy

The Regional Relay carnival is not far away and nominations must be in by this Saturday Oct 25th. We cannot accept nominations after Saturday. So far we have 35 athletes nominated which is a great effort, but there is still room for more people on teams. We need to have FOUR athletes to form a track relay team, so the more people that nominate means we can have more teams representing our Centre. There is a couple of age groups where we don’t have full teams yet – so if you have not nominated yet please think about it!

If you would like to nominate send an email to centremanager@nambourlittleathletics.com.au ASAP so that we can organise teams soon – we don’t need the form filled out. The nomination fee is $12.50 which we can collect later.

New Season Starts September 1st

The new season at Nambour Little Athletics starts on Saturday September 1st at 7:45am. We’re ready to welcome back all our awesome athletes from last year and really looking forward to welcoming lots of new members. Check out our registration page for all the details.
